Liquid Methane

Gas converted into liquid

LNG is liquefied natural gas and consists mainly of methane, exactly the same as liquefied biogas, LBG. Methane is a clean gas without any sulphur content, and does not form particles during combustion. It is colourless, odourless and toxin-free. Biogas and natural gas are compatible in terms of storage, transport and use.

When natural gas is converted from gas into liquid at a temperature of -162°C, it is reduced in volume over 600 times, allowing it to be transported efficiently in tanks by sea, rail or road. This makes it possible for industrial facilities and filling stations to gain access to gas in those areas of the country that are outside the gas transmission network.
